Sender Policy Framework, or SPF, is a verification system, that is designed to prevent the so-called email spoofing where an e-mail message is sent from one e-mail, but to appear as being sent from a different one, frequently with the idea to fraud the recipient for some reason. When SPF protection is activated for a domain, a specific record is generated for it in the Domain Name System and all of the DNS servers worldwide have it. The record includes all of the mail servers that are permitted to send authentic messages from an email address under the domain. When an e-mail is sent, the very first DNS server it encounters checks the SPF record and if the sending server is authorized, the message is forwarded to the targeted receiver. If, however, the sending server doesn't exist in the SPF record for the given domain, the message will not be sent and it'll be removed. In case you employ this solution, it will stop third parties from sending spam messages that appear to have been sent from you.
SPF Protection in Website Hosting
If you host your domains in a website hosting account on our end and we handle the emails for them, you will be able to activate SPF protection for them with a couple of clicks inside your Hepsia Control Panel. The service can be found in a separate section where you will be able to view which domain names are already protected. For the ones that aren't, you'll be able to activate the SPF protection solution and configure a lot of things during this process - the hostnames of the mail servers that are permitted to send messages from your mailboxes, the IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of these servers, and even to set a rule that emails can be sent only when your domains include our MX records. The aforementioned solution is the most secure one, but it can be used in the event that we take care of the emails for your domain names and you're not using another e-mail provider. The new records will be activated within 24 hours and nobody will be able to fake the FROM field in an e-mail with your email addresses.
SPF Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
The SPF protection feature is provided with all the semi-dedicated hosting service, so in case you host your domains in an account on our cloud hosting platform, you're able to activate this particular service easily for all your domains. The Hepsia Control Panel, which comes with the semi-dedicated accounts, offers a very intuitive interface, therefore you won't have to be proficient in the use of computers in order to protected your emails. You will only have to type the hostname and the IP of each mail server that you'd like to be certified to send emails from your addresses and immediately after that the new record will be activated for the domain name that you have selected. As a further option, we'll also allow you to limit the outgoing e-mail messages and secure your mailboxes further by allowing emails to be sent only when the domain name in question contains our MX records i.e. the emails for the domain name need to be handled here and not by another provider. Doing so you'll enjoy even better control and there won't be any chance for somebody to fake your e-mails for malicious intentions.
